When you’re looking to find the best moisturizers, it doesn’t matter if your skin type is dry, oily, normal, acne prone. A fragrance free moisturizer is the best. Nicely scenting fragrances can be lovely and have a certain luxury feeling to it, but “fragrance” can be a wide-ranging word for many uncommon and slightly negative ingredients. Besides, many fragrances cause allergic reactions, or provoke them, and are generally sensitizing and irritating for the skin. Overall; added fragrances are just quite unnecessary..

If you tend to have a sensitive skin – and react to fragrances – then you should especially move to fragrance free products and moisturizers, and get rid of all your fragranced products.
– and even if you don’t, there is not really any incentives on why not to take the step over to using fragrance free products?…

From where we see it, it is unnecessary and a potential risk to add fragrances to products. Why not keep it clean and simple, and avoid unnecessary exposure and potentially evoking allergies and bad reactions?
– aaaand, if you go scent- and fragrance free with your products, once you add a perfume, it won’t drown in the other scents – it’ll get to stand and shine alone.

When it comes to finding the best moisturizer

For dry, sensitive skin – and normal -, a fragrance free facial moisturizer is of further importance. Not only is it important to make sure some ingredients aren’t in the products you’re using. It is equally important to look after which ingredients that are in; and making sure that they’re benefitting to your skin looking and feeling healthy, balanced and strong.

What to look for in a fragrance free moisturizer

No. 1: Butyrospermum Parkii Butter

Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, is better known as Shea Butter. We all want our moisturizer to really moisture our faces in an elegant, not too greasy way, but still get away with the dry skin. Shea Butter is rich in antioxidants, including quercetin, epicatechin gallate, gallocatechin, epigallocatechin, and also has skin-replenishing fatty acids (stearic and linoleic). Furthermore, the commonly known ingredient also has emollient properties for dry skin – and don’t we all want glazing benefits? The butter additionally acts as a protective ingredient for your skin, and inhibits the formation of free radicals. It’s well adapted for the anti-ageing processes 8which is great for maturing skin), as it helps to retain the elasticity.
The refined Shea Butter we use comes from Burkina Faso, situated in west Africa and our partners are directly socially responsible for the support of the local community in the trade of Shea.

No. 2: Glycerin

Glycerin is a natural component in healthy skin. And when it’s used in skincare, it’s typically derived from vegetable fats (like coconut oil, soy or palm) or produced synthetically. Glycerin is a hygroscopic ingredient, so it will attract the moisture from the air surrounding us, and thus helps us to contain the moisture in our skin. The ingredient imitates the skin’s natural moisturizing factors in the skin’s fat layer. This means that it becomes an important element for the skin’s ability to tie water in the superior skin layer. Besides glycerin being an eminent humectant, it protects against environmental sources of skin irritation. Lastly glycerin helps to strengthen the precious skin barriers, while also helping other ingredients to penetrate the skin better. Glycerin helps to maintain a healthy and good moisture balance in your skin, making it feel soft, smooth and elastic. In this way it helps it being receptive to other active ingredients. Lastly, it aids in improving the skin’s youthful look.

No. 3: Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil

Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil is a refined sweet almond oil, that’s rich in oleic fatty acid, omega 9 and 6. It among other improves the spreadability and skin condition, so it’ll feel smooth and soft. The fatty acids that are highly present in this oil, are crucial in regenerating your skin. They both provide moisturizing and soothing properties, and are particularly adapted to sensitive skin. Prunus is also rich in vitamin E, which protects our skin from damaging ultraviolet lights and prevents cell damage. The oil’s characterized by easy, soft spreadability, fast absorption into the outer layer of the skin, and an invisible, soft, and long-lasting presence. It gives a lightweight and “bare skin” feel.

So what is the take away on fragrance free moisturizers?

No matter which skin or (non)concern you have; fragrance free moisturizers are the overall best. Second, you should look after the active ingredients, and ingredients that brings your skin hydration, and protects your skin and skin barrier.
