Boë Beauté was founded with a simple purpose; creating clean, high-quality self-tanning skincare, that creates a natural, healthy glow and a strong skin – in one easy step.
Lars, our founder’s wife suffers from Rosacea, is allergic to (natural & chemical) fragrances, is Multi Chemical Sensitive (MCS), and has a very sensitive skin.
Through Louise, his wife’s, early career as a model, she was exposed to excessive fragrances and chemicals through the har and skin products she was required to wear, eventually causing the intolerance.
She has always been passionate about leading a healthy life – even before her intolerances. Her experiences increased her focus on surrounding herself and their children, where two of them also suffers from allergies and rosacea, with fragrance free, natural products in their home – for their kids as well as in her beauty routine. She wanted to make sure the ingredients surrounding them were good and pure, in food and beverages, as well as in creams, shampoos, soaps, clothing, and so forth.
Due to her sensitive skin, Louise has always been careful around and avoiding unnecessary sun exposure. At the same time, she still wanted to maintain a fresh, natural glow. She could never find any tanning products that her skin either didn’t react to or that didn’t expose her for unnecessary risks.
With keeping fragrances to a minimum being at the core of how the founding family lived, the Lars wanted to give his wife the opportunity to use clean, safe products and maintain a glowy, natural tan at the same time – and that is what Boë is about.
“Louise (my wife) is the main reason why Boë has been dedicated to make clean products from the start, and why we never compromise on strictly using the best possible quality of ingredients, and produce here in Copenhagen. Sensitive skin has been our (Boë’s) default from the beginning. Louise has always been about and cultivated naturalness. Her Rosacea, allergies, sensitivities and caretaking, combined with her former job as a model, and ancestors being doctors, she’s always been skeptical about “skincare products doing wonders” and using a million different products.
She’s never used or wanted a 10-step skincare routine to feel like her skin looked beautiful. She believed in less is more – less products, less fragrances = less stress of and stronger skin.”

“She thought of self-tan as a genius invention but couldn’t find any products that suited her needs; so, I, her husband, wanted to develop that for her. Like she would’ve been active outside most of the day – but protected. Well balanced, moisturized, glowy, and easily accomplished.
